Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

Short version: Herb stores everything on your device. We do not collect your data, track your usage, or sell anything about you. Ever.

What We Collect

Herb collects nothing. Zero. All your rules, sessions, notes, projects, templates, and context profiles are stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API. Nothing is sent to any server.

What We Do Not Collect

Local Storage

Herb uses Chrome's local storage API to save your data on your device. This data never leaves your browser unless you choose to export it yourself.

If you uninstall Herb, all locally stored data is deleted automatically by Chrome.

Community Rules

If you choose to publish a rule to the Herb community, the content of that rule becomes visible to other Herb users. Do not publish rules containing sensitive information such as API keys, passwords, or private business data.

Context Injection

The Herb Context feature prepends your saved context to your messages in AI tools. This context is stored locally on your device and is injected directly into the webpage you are using. It is not sent to or processed by any Herb servers.

Third Party Services

Herb interacts with the following third-party services solely at your direction:

We do not share any data with these services on your behalf.

Your Rights

You can delete all your Herb data at any time by uninstalling the extension or using the clear data option in Chrome settings.
